One Response to “The Right to Bear Arms, a Misapplication”

Kelly, I just read your blog for the day. I think we have a lot of common ground. I agree with you on the power of the ballot box. The people voiced their concerns at the ballot box in November.

I am not a member of the NRA. I think they are nuts at times. I too own several weapons. I think treasonous acts are being committed by Obama et al. I am not to the point I am ready to pick up arms against our government.

I do wonder where we would be today if the old conferderacy was alive and well. I am not talking about the issue of slavery. I am speaking of individual rights and states rights. Slavery is wrong and the confederacy should have lost on that basis alone.

In my opinion there was nothing wrong with that Palin ad targeting Gabby Giffords district. The shooting of the congresswoman was/is reprehensible. Our own congressional district was targeted when Travis Childers won election two years ago.

In closing I am not willing to give my rights as an individual,or citizen just so I can be governed. When that line is crossed it is time to pick up arms.

    Respectfully submitted, Pete Bailey
